A shooting outside a sports bar in Philadelphia’s Fairhill neighborhood has led to a homicide investigation after a man was fatally wounded early Sunday morning.
Around 3 a.m. on March 1, police responded to a report of gunfire at 809 Sports Bar on 2nd Street. Authorities discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving.
At the scene, investigators recovered two firearms, multiple shell casings, and a knife, though police have not yet determined a motive for the shooting. No suspects have been identified, and no arrests have been made at this time.
The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward as they continue their investigation.
