Shot Dead Idaho

Idaho State Police (ISP) are investigating a homicide following the discovery of a man’s body with a fatal gunshot wound inside a vehicle along Interstate 15 in eastern Idaho.

The incident unfolded on the night of February 28, when ISP troopers found a white 2008 Toyota Camry with its hazard lights flashing on the shoulder of northbound I-15, near milepost 85. The vehicle, which appeared abandoned, was discovered around 10:30 p.m. Upon stopping to offer assistance, officers discovered the driver, a 31-year-old man from Utah, had been fatally shot.

The Bingham County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the man’s death was a homicide, though the victim’s identity has not yet been publicly disclosed.

To allow investigators to process the scene, northbound lanes of I-15 were temporarily closed overnight but have since reopened.

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in piecing together details about the case. ISP is requesting anyone who might have passed by the area, observed any vehicles stopped near the Camry, or witnessed anything unusual, to contact ISP District 5 Investigations at (208) 239-9850.

“Even the smallest bit of information could prove crucial to solving this case,” said ISP officials.
