A tragic accident on GT Road in Ambala claimed the lives of a father and son after their two-wheeler was hit by a Haryana Roadways bus. The incident occurred near Shastri Colony on National Highway-44 on Monday.
The victims, 52-year-old Amarnath and his 22-year-old son Keshav, were residents of Ambala Cantt and were on their way to Ambala City when the accident happened. Amarnath died at the scene, while Keshav was first taken to a local hospital and later transferred to PGIMER, Chandigarh, where he passed away.
Following a complaint from Amarnath’s elder son, Himanshu, the Parao police station filed a case against the bus driver, Mohit, for reckless driving. Mohit, who was driving a bus from the Sonepat depot, has been taken into custody.
According to Parao police station’s SHO, Dharamveer Singh, the autopsies were conducted in Ambala, and the bodies were returned to the family on Tuesday. The arrested driver is set to be presented in court.
