A member of the United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) was shot and killed in an attack allegedly carried out by the Parbatya Chattogram Jana Sanghati Samiti (PCJSS) early Sunday in Manikchhari upazila, Rangamati.
The victim was identified as Nirmol Chakma, according to reports from UNB.
Angya Marma, a spokesperson for the UPDF, stated that armed members of the Jana Sanghati Samiti were responsible for the attack, which led to Chakma’s death in the Kharmapara Teimidung area of Manikchhari.
Md Sahed Uddin, the officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, confirmed the reports of the fatal gunfight but did not provide additional details on the incident.
