A woman has lost her life following a shooting in Talbot Green, Rhondda Cynon Taf.
South Wales Police responded to an incident in the Green Park area around 6:10 PM on Sunday. Officers discovered a 40-year-old woman with severe injuries, but she sadly passed away at the scene.
A 42-year-old man from Talbot Green has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder as investigations continue. Several crime scenes have been established, and roads in the area remain closed while officers gather evidence.
Detective Chief Inspector James Morris acknowledged the concerns of local residents and assured them that a dedicated team of detectives is working swiftly to uncover what happened.
Witnesses described a heavy police presence, with emergency vehicles rushing to the area with flashing lights. A police helicopter was seen flying over Talbot Green at around 6:30 PM before returning to its base in St Athan.
Talbot Green, located about 10 miles northwest of Cardiff, has been shaken by the tragedy. Many residents took to social media to express their shock.
Local councillor Sarah Jane Davies noted that recent events in the community had sparked worry and distress among residents.
